Luciferase assay in cells in suspension

Hi,
We have been transfecting cells in suspension by electroporation with the nucleofector machine of Amaxa, getting very good transfection efficiencies. Following tranfection we did a luciferase assay (promega) and even the controls we have are not working. The same plasmids transfected into adherent cells with Jet, give very good results in the luciferase assay.
What are we doing wrong? What should we try to change?
