DGGE troubles

Hi:
I have two problems with the DGGE:
1.-Sometimes I can't obtain the equal fingerprint with the same sample under the same conditions. Do you have any recomendation?
2.-I have a lot of problems with the silver staining. I clean my glass material with nitric acid 50%, and I use a kit (biorad) but the strips are very weakly or the background is black when I can watch the stripes good.
