    ghost band after DNA purification

After DNA elution out of an agarosegel and purification with 5M NaCl, Isoprop. and 70% EtOH an loading an aliquot on a gel, 2 bands are visible instead of one. The freaky thing is, that this ghost band always appears in the same distance (regardless of which type of DNA I eluted!). I've tried to precipitate with 3M NaAc, changed all buffers and solutions I need, but nothing helped. Additionally, when I load an aliquot on an agarosegel the next day, the ghost band has dissappeared. Can anyone help me?
It's also annoying, because I think that's why my ligations don't work since many moons ago....

Thanks for any idea you may have!!!
