droplets seen in preparation

We are doing FISH on interphase preparation from peripheral leucocytes for a microdeletion probe with 12-13 hours incubation. After post hybridization washing, while observing round droplets of varying sizes are seen near and also over the cells interfering with capturing and analysis of the images.
We are adding the DAPI onto the centre of the hybridized area and then put the coverslip by first touching the drop of ther stain and then gently leave the coverslip so that the stain sprads slowly. Slight pressure is applied using tip of a pipetting tip to cover any area not covered by the stain. Could any body help in this matter why it is happening?
