preabsorbing chicken antibodies

Hello,
I have a custom chicken primary antibody that I have preabsorbed against it's antigenic peptide, and when I stain protein on a Western Blot with this, ALL the bands (not a subset pf them) go away (typically this chicken antibody detects many bands, and I'm assuming some are artifacts). I was wondering if anyone has had similar problems with chicken antibodies,? Also, maybe a good protocol for preabsorbing chicken antibodies against their peptides? Thanks! Tracy
