    collagen phagocytosis

I recently read a paper saying I can block collagen phagocytosis by adding low concentrations of staurosporine to culture medium. Apparently this acts via the inhibition of protein kinase C, but the paper doesn't mention anything about the mechanism. I'm not so hot on signaling, so was wondering if anybody knows why PKC inhibition would block phagocytosis? thanks
