    Wax Infiltration and Embedding - Help

    Hi, I'm kind of new to histology. I just have a few questions to ask regarding wax infiltration and embedding, this is for my homework:

    1. Why do you set the layer of wax in the base of the mould before placing teh cassette on top?

    2. What will happen if you don't put teh cassette flat on base mould?

    3. Give two examples of specimens where it is important to embed a particular face on the base of the mould.
