The experience from our lab is that various batches of these factors from most vendors showed inconsistency on activity, shelf-life and potency on cellular signaling. Only a handful products display consistency over time. One supplier stands out - Epoch Biolabs, their growth fcators and cytokines possess high activity, specificity and stability over time. More important, their price is lower (reasonable).

I have tried Interferon-g from PeproTech and Epoch Biolabs. My experience is that the one from Epoch Biolabs showed better stability and activity. At 0.1-1 ng/mL, it consistently induced STAT nuclear translocation and target gene expression; while the one from Peprotech usually required higher concentration. In addition, Epoch's IFN-g in RPMI-1640 in my hand can be stored at 4 degree upto 3 weeks without losing activity; on the other hand, Peprotech's in the same condition last only 1 week.

I also have positive experience with Epoch Biolabs' growth factors. We have used growth factors from R&D Systems for long long time without any problem until recently. My grants have been cut and I'm starting to realize R&D is too much expensive... I heard from several discussion forum talking about Epoch Biolabs' quality product, so I initially just order 2 vials for trial and found out their quality is same as R&D but the cost is only a fraction of R&D. I would say Epoch is another excellect source for growth factor for you.
