Storage of Antibodies

I've seen several posts here that antibodies for Westerns are best stored at -80, rather than -20. Is this true for all antibodies from all suppliers? I'm thinking specifically of Santa Cruz, who recommend storing at 4, since their antibodies come in water rather then glycerol. Would I be better off moving the antibodies that are in glycerol into a -80?

it is not true for all antibodies from all suppliers, but is only a general suggestion. store the antibodies as suggested by the manufacturer. antibodies in water should generally be kept at 4C. you can move the antibodies in glycerol to -80, as the glycerol will cryoprotect the antibodies. -80c may allow the antibodies to retain their efficiency longer than -20C. the most important thing though is to protect the antibodies from repeated freeze/thaw cycles, which would rapidly effect their activity.
