| I had to send it back the first time because it fell apart. And now the new one in falling apart.
This has been a good, detailed book up 'till now. While doing homework I noticed pg's 69-100 are MIA! I bought this book NEW from Amazon.
I found this to be an excellent textbook. I think every rad tech should review the informaton in this book before taking x-rays. This book was also a tool for the ARRT exam. Pathology, I think, is one of the more interestings subjects, not boring at all. This book is good along with the likes of

| This book is an invaluable addition to medical education. Medicine is such a HUGE topic, and gaining proficiency in it depends on understanding pathophysiology. Perhaps most reviewers would not call this book a scholarly addition to the medical literature, but I think it is brilliant!
This book is in no way intended to teach you all you have to know for the boards, but the silly drawings are an awesome way to remember the myriad of facts that go along with each disorder. I used BRS Path to pick up additional facts and then added to the drawings to incorporate in those concepts. Worked great and still does! I own the entire series and find them incredibly useful. I might as well face it -- I don't have the time or inclination to be as creative as Laurie, so props to her for making this all available to us!
I love all the Visual Mnemonics books by Laurie Marbas. The Path book has especially good ways for remembering all of the lung & heart pathologies. These books have changed the way I study and have helped by grade significantly. They have also saved me time b/c memorizing doesn't take as much time anymore. |

| I think the information presented is helpful, for our field, and concise. However for the money I paid I would like nice quality photos. All the photos are pixelated and while it may not matter in terms of identifying a syndrome, I'm not sure why they felt the need to skimp on this part. Cell phone cameras take better pictures than those in this book.
I am an SLP at a special needs preschool. My colleagues and I (including OTs, PTs, psychologist, etc.) frequently refer to this book. It's easy to look up a syndrome by name or by characteristics. The entries are concise and easy to understand. The syndrome is described, and then characteristics such as speech/language disorders, physical features, differential diagnosis, history and prognosis are given. It's probably not the most comprehensive book out there, but we find it very handy for the population we serve. |

| I am a Pathology Resident in my second year. I referred to this book constantly in my hematology rotation. I ended up borrowing one from another resident until I could get my own - now the others borrow it from me. I haven't had the chance to review the new Kjelsberg yet, but it's the other necessary reference for Hematopathology. |

| This all-in-one textbook of GI pathology is one of the best textbook in the field. There is very few (if not none) textbooks combining GI, pancreas and liver into one volumne. The authors, however, presented with a comprehensive review on the surgical pathology of the three organs and the informations are quite updated. The review on GERD, IBD, neuroendocrine tumors are some of the well-written summary on the current status of the diseases.

This should be useful book for revision by those who are going to sit for exit examinations. It is also useful for practising pathologist in their daily work.
I would personally not recommend this textbook for the following reasons: The chapters are organized in a confusing way with chapters organized not based on organ but on disease type. Certain chapters are certainly better than others with the liver, pancreas and extrabiliary tract being particulary better than those covering the small and large intestine. The photographs are in certain cases adequate and in others are too small and hard to interpret. Overall, I would not buy this book given the high price but may consider using it as an ancillary text |
