| I utilized this text for my microbiology class in undergrad. It lists the major parasites, molds and bacteria. Parasites were the most interesting because it shows you what foods are associated with what parasite. Pretty gross stuff but was not boring at all. I also used:
Microbiology Study Guide: Key Review Question and Answers, isbn 0971999635, to help me with test preparation. The questions were quite similar to what I found on my college microbiology tests. Both books helped me to achieve very good scores on my tests. |

| The price compared to the bookstore is great, but after purchasing and taking to class I realize why. It's missing several chapters at the end of the book. The hardcover you find in bookstores has at least 3 or more chapters. If your class doesn't go that far, then you're good. If it does...well then you're going to have problems. Everything else is fine, but you will be missing key information.
I got my book in a very timely manner. I was very pleased with the condition and the delivery time. Will surely buy again. |

| I took a microbiology class in undergraduate and found this book quite thorough and well-organized no nonsense approach. It got right to the point, without the added wording of many textbooks. I also used the Microbiology Study Guide: Key Review Questions and Answers by Patrick Leonardi which is on amazon.com.
I found the last book to be quite on the mark with the type of questions to know for the test. These two books really helped alleviate many surprise questions on my microbiology exams. My friend who took microbiology last year recommended these two books. He was right, these two books helped me get an A. |

| I bought this book because it was required for my microbiology lab. I hated this class to begin with but by then end i LOVED IT! The book is so helpful and easy to learn from. I would reccommend it to anyone.
This book arrived in excellent condition within the specified time. It was a brand new book and was exactly as advertised.
This book is very clear and straight-forward. If you read the text ahead of time, you will clearly understand the procedures and theoretical context for your lab class. It clearly is a beginner's manual, though, so it does not go terribly in depth into the molecular biochemistry of the experiments, which for many people will be a good thing, but not for those who want to learn everything about everything. |

| My wife tells me that this study giude is helpful, and she doesn"t have to read asmuch out of the big book.
by the time the product arrived, i did not need it. the product over all was in great condition.
The title of this item SAYS "STUDY GUIDE" So I am not sure why people think that they are getting the text book, as indicated in other reviews. If you are taking a course and the text is required for your studies, I would suggest picking this up even if it is not mentioned for your course. It is great review and study help, and you can usually get a great deal on it used (if the questions are answered already, somply get whiteout and erase them..this is only for yourself). In conclusion, I would suggest this text to anyone!

| I really think this is a great book. I am a medical doctor who wants to finish her specialisation in virology, microbiology and environmental hygiene. This book really covers the practical techniques to identify different microorganisms. You finally understand which steps are taken, the flow-charts are excellent. I have not found a similar book in the German literature.
The hospital where my wife is doing MLT clinicals had this book. She was so impressed with it, she wanted one of her own. It is up-to-date with many color and B/W pictures of the most recent micro technologies and procedures. East to read and understand.
This book is very hard to understand. It is not written for the average student. |

| i BUY VERY OFTEN FROM aMAZON VENDORS. I TRUST THEM TO DELIVER, AND THEY DID IT AGAIN!
I hate memorizing details. This book is perfect for students like myself who don't enjoy endlessly memorizing random details. It has a great question prompt (with the answer across the way on the page) format to facilitate learning and memorization. Very high yield.
I am horrible at reviews, so bear with me. This is a great book. I used it in school and I now use it at work in my microbiology lab. I work in clinical microbiology and I have access to many micro books in my lab. This book in particular is used so often by my co-workers and myself that it never gets dusty. The organisms are easy to find with the contents and the index. The descriptions for each are excellent containing a colony morphology as well as gram stain description, patient symptoms and possible infections that the microbe could cause. It is easy to read and contains some color photographs of the organism itself, or of the patient symptoms for those who may not be familiar to them. There are some main biochemicals included in the organism description which help with identification. It is basically a review of things, not complete, but it has all of the main things to help jump start your brain and start diagnosis or to just help a student to remember certain facts or characteristics about microbes. I highly recommend this book to students studying microbiology as well as those involved in clinical microbiology. |
