Very helpful book. Breaks each medication down by body system and how it's used. Easy to find what you're looking for. Highly recommend.

This book is a good introduction to pharmacology ... well that is if you can see through all the miscalculations that the author's make when converting from the metric system to other measuring systems. For instance: the authors claim that 44 pounds divided by 2.2 equals approximately 21 when the correct answer is exactly 20 (question 3 - 27). In the back of the book the author's claim that 1 grain equals 60 mg which is correct but then it gets interesting, they claim that 15 grains only equals 900 mg when the correct answer is 15 x 60 mg = 1000 mg. They even claim that 1 gram equals 900 miligrams - anybody in Europe know that the correct answer is 1000 miligrams. Math must not be the author's best feature.
This book is a-m-a-z-i-n-g! From the way it is set-up to the information it contains, it will definitely assist you with your pharmacology! A great NCLEX prep.

This book is helpful review for SOME pharmacology... the only problem is, it doesn't go into great detail in the review portions. And it doesn't have a section on psych drugs. But there are about 15 different tests all on pharmacology, and the practice questions are very helpful.

There was some information needed that was not in the book. Overall, don't think I would have passed without it. It really broke the information down into easier terms.

As a nursing instructor, I found this book very helpful in educating my students about pharmacology. It laid a good foundation for an introduction to pharmacology for each body system. My students loved the setup of the chapters and the bullet point format.

I looked at this book once and it had completely different drug info than my text, so I never looked at it again. Also, entire drug categories that were in my text were missing from this book.

I am three weeks from graduation, and did not have an understanding of pharmacology, but when I found this book in the store, I had to purchase it. Any book written by this series is worth having for an emerging practical nurse. The study guide is comprehensible as well. At least, I'll have a mastery of the drugs by the time I take the state boards!

This book contains several hundred pharmacology questions organized by topic. So, if you just want to review your knowledge of antineoplastics, you can do so with this book. This alone makes it much better than the various QBanks that are available. After each group of questions there are many pages devoted to the answers. All of the correct and incorrect answers are explained in detail.

If you are preparing for pharm I highly recommend this book to test yourself on what you are learning. It helps you find your weak points and enables you to crush them. It's a smallish book so you can throw it in your bag to test yourself whenever you have free time.

The biggest downside to this book is that I didn't get it last year and that there is no online access via student consult or something similar.

Highly recommend.
