I imagined that a CD Atlas would allow a lot more linkage from one part to another. Also, the atlas is not as extensive and detailed as I imagined it would be. It's a disappointment.

If you were napping during Neuroanatomy there is a way out. Read this book. The authors have written clear and concise descriptions leaving out all of the frills that will never make it into the USMLE. So fire up your dendrites with a quart of caffeine and go cover to cover in two nights. <br>You'll at least be able to critique Hannibal Lecter's table manners.

For students of neuroanatomy, this is a great book. Concise, understandable pros, terrific pictures and illustrations, Fitzgerald does an outstanding job of presenting material which is usually difficult and boring. The entire central nervous system is covered in sufficient detail for medical students, neurology residents, and neuropsychologists. What is especially nice and different about this book is that when any particular area is discussed, there is a "clinical" section which illustrates how lesions in that region would manifest themselves. So for instance when presenting the cerebrovasculature, sections on various stroke syndromes discuss the appropriate behavioral disorder (hemiparesis, aphasia, abulia, etc.). Linking anatomy, neuropathology, and specific behavioral syndromes makes this an especially interesting and easier way to learn. A very good book - recommended for students.
