| This book seems to closely follow Ackerman's Surgical Pathology by Rosai, and it does a an admittedly good job of condensing the material down as much as possible. It very much appears that the author has published his personal notes from his studying for the AP boards. I really don't know how helpful this would be to someone else. The material is very dense (as many outlines of technical information must be), and you probably can go back and read your highlights of Rosai in the same time it would take to try to comprehend the material from this outline. The one exception is the appendix on Syndromes and Bodies that I thought was unique. Everyone studies differently, and there are many surgical pathology study aids out there. This one wasn't nearly as useful to me as the Pathology Pearls of Wisdom or "Osler" notes.
This book is a concise summary of the features of almost all pathologic entities. The first 35 pages deal with clinical pathology and basic science, summarizing in this short space what Robbins takes 600 pages to explain. The remainder of the text is devoted to anatomic pathology (including hematopathology) and is a great reference next to the microscope. The only problem is that there are no pictures. |

By: Mario Campanacci, W.F. Enneking ISBN: 3211832351 Publisher: Springer Release Date: 15 December, 1999 Bioscience book rank: 1085684
| This is an extraordinary book by an extraordinary author. Dr. Campanacci brings to the readers the vast experience in musculoskeletal oncology of the Rizzoli Orthopaedic Institute in Bologna. As such, he has had at his disposal the patient records, radiographs and pathologic material dating back to 1905. The wealth of clinical material that has been accumulated at the Rizzoli Institute, with exquisite documentation and maintenance is a unique resource and testimonial to not only the author but his predecessors. This book brings to the reader an almost unparalleled experience from one of the leading centers of musculoskeletal oncology in the world. From the Foreword of William F. Enneking:This second english edition is an entirely new book. It has been thoroughly rewritten, from the first to the last word. About 30% of the pictures are new. The new book incorporates the accumulated personal experience of the Author, covering over 20.000 inpatients and many more outpatients, the perusal of the literature of the last 10 years, the recent developments in imaging (particularly MRI), microscopic diagnosis (especially immunohistochemistry and electron microscopy) and the ultimate progress in surgical and non-surgical treatment modalities.Mario Campanacci (1932-1999) was an orthopaedic surgeon and a pathologist with 40 years of experience (started in 1958 in the Laboratory of Pathology and Tumor Center of the Rizzoli Orthopaedic Institute) focused on musculoskeletal oncology. He was Professor of Orthopaedic Surgery and Pathology, University of Bologna, Director of the 1st Orthopaedic Clinic and of the Tumor Centre, Rizzoli Orthopaedic Institute, Bologna and Director of the Graduate School of Orthopaedics, University of Bologna.
This is the most complete and detailed text I have read about tumours of the muskuloskeletal system. The combination of microphotography and the thorough pathologic description makes this an example of an interdisciplinary approach to these clinical problems.

| I am a biologist, and found this book very intelligible and easy.
This text provided the subject of Pathology in a clear and concise way without over simpifying the subject. The color photos provided a more hands-on feel, and stressed the important points. The questions at the end of the chapter were a good review of the key points.
This text is a clear, concise guide to Pathology for those in the Health Related Fields. As a Pharmacy student, I felt that it provided me with just the right amount of depth without over-simplifying the subjects. It provided clear color photos to emphasize the important points. |

| This book follows my course word for word since my professor is Dr. King. It is very helpful for learning pathology and includes background info in immuno, endo, biochem, physio and histology for anyone who doesn't have a strong background in those subjects. |
