This CD may have had a lot of good practice questions, but I'll never know since I couldn't stand the format. Answers to the questions are provided, but they are long-winded and address a whole block of questions (not just the question you are working on). The display is too small to display all the choices, making it difficult to compare answers. If you're looking for a practice CD that simulates Step I conditions, this isn't it.

i LOVED STUYING FROM THE PROGRAM BETTER THAN ANY BOOK

This book gives you 56 major clinical cases of Pediatrics. It presents cases beginning from its history, physical, images and "associated diseases". The big features of this series are that the cases are presented within 1-3 pages, with the diagnosis at the end of the page. So you can test yourself by hiding the last row. Also the important keywords that are included in the cases are highlighted, so if any of them are not familiar to you, you can check it out. Almost all the cases selected are very important, and it is highly possible that you see them on your exam. But if you have no trouble getting a clinical picture of each diseases (e.g. IMG already practicing pediatrics), this book may be unnecessary.

Appleton & Lange has serious problems in their proofreading/quality control department or maybe they don't have one at all.

The book has quite a few errors in the answer key and on the explanations (erroneously stating that D is the correct answer instead of A, along with a confusing explanation on why A is the correct answer) These types of errors are extremely frustrating and make the book barely unusable; wrong answers and wrong explanations tend to stick and lead to confusion on test day.

Moreover, these errors have occurred on every A&L book I've used: The A&L Goldberg USMLE Step 2 book and the A&L PANCE review book all suffer from the same flaws.

This is not necessarily a knock on the authors, the questions and explanations are for the most part decent, but the answer key errors are too much to deal with in my honest opinion.

For a real good USMLE question book, get a copy of the NMS USMLE Step 2 2nd or 3rd edition
this book has plenty of MCQ , when you do tests you must be sure that you are reading the write answer since the blocks format are confusing. the questions are very short, simple and very basic. this book is time consuming. it does not following the format, difficulty and the challenge of the step 3. this book can be used for the step 2 and partly for the step 1. by reading this book you wont learn much if at all for the step 3. my last work try other sources e.g. crush step 3, Kaplan step 3 Qbank and mosby's ACE the board.

I would like to express my opinion about REA book.
Actually, I found out the following facts:
*About 60%-70% of questions in this book are useless. They are either very easy or do not follow the real format of the USMLE-Step 3 questions(in regard the length and the difficulty).
The remaining 30-40% of questions can be considered to be good.
*Many topics are not covered enough like the biostatistics. There are also high deficiency in the other topics.
*The explanations are deficient and not so good.
The only advantage of this book is that its price [price] is good for its volume and number of questions(2700).
I think other books can be better.

This book is a disservice to anyone studying for step 3. The questions are too short and simple compared to the long and sometimes complex vignettes in the real test. Many questions are repeated in the practice tests, and the material covered was not comprehensive. Look elsewhere for a good question review book.
