| This book is a superb, concise, up-to-date review of basic physiology in the form of charts, tables, diagrams and illustrations. The book is exceptionally well-organized and focused, which permits ready access to the information. Although designed primarily for medical students, it is also valuable for physicians interested in concise and accurate review information. I found that it provided me with all the basic information that I needed to review for the Boards. This book should be in the library of every physician who is interested in keeping current. Highly recommended!
Although the text contains charts, tables, mnemonics, and fast facts, its strength is its charts. There are a huge number of them, and they are very detailed and well-organized. For example, renal physiology, which is always a challenge, contains some exeptional charts,(specifically, p.312, Summary of Renal Tubular Function). The book also includes relevant anatomy and clinical information - a definite bonus. As with most mnemonics, some are useful, while others are simply good for amusement. |

| I just got my cd's today and I am taking Anatomy and Physiology this semester. I downloaded this to my IPOD and I lOVE IT. It's covering everything that I am currently reading and yet to read. The speech is perfect and I understand the women talking perfectly. It's like me reading the actual book instead I can sit at my full time job and listen to this just as I would listen to MUSIC all day. Someone suggested I look for audio cd's of this kind and I thanked them a million times for the suggestion and now I AM THANKING DAVID G. GANTT for making an audio cd. THIS IS A GREAT STUDY AID ! I recommend this 100%. I read in a review that the speed was too fast I totally disagree if you are taking a class and using this audio cd at the same time it all makes sense.
I found the Biology on CD a very wise purchase to help with my current anatomy class. I bring it with me in the car and listen to it at home while getting ready for the day. The narrators voices are pleasant and easy to understand. I am very pleased with this product.
The CD's are of good sound quality. They use 2 female speakers whom alternate between one another presenting anatomy and physiology concepts, principles etc. These recordings are certainly not for beginning students and one must possess a vast vocabulary in A&P to even understand. They speak very quick and are onto other systems/topics before you had a chance to blink or comprehend some of their verbal utterances. The CD's are the equivalent of spead reading where you will be speed listening. I find myself rewinding/repeating the tracks several times to retain the information as you are only able to grasp small pieces of info at a time. Hope this was helpful. Recommend for advance students, graduate and medical but would have to give thumbs down for undergrad students or others just trying to pick up some A&P concepts. |

| I said a prayer two days ago, and asked for a book that explained anatomy in simple terms that I understand, and then, I walked into the college bookstore and saw this. First of all, ANYTHING by Mosby would be purchased by me, and this is no exception! Now, this is a small, compact book that you can carry anywhere, to the supermarket, on the train, even to class rather than the large textbooks that are also needed. While much more of the information may be in the text, this is a great supplement, because anything that you need to add, there is room on many of the pages to include your own notes. Now, I know I will make it through Anatomy, as well as on my way to become a nurse! GET THIS BOOK!!
As an NP student, I needed a condensed reference book. This one is it! All of the body systems explained very briefly with wonderful conceptual models and diagrams, fetal circulation, etc. There are pictures of bones, muscles, veins, all the basics.
Included are tables with chemistry and lab values and some reasons for abnormals, which muscles/tendons move what, planes of the body, cells and their functions, pictures of different kinds of tissues, teeth, cranial nerves, dermatomes, you name it, it's in here!
It's like having three or four books in one. Well worth the money, in my opinion. And it fits in your pocket or small enough to go with your 20 other books in your book bag! Great for students and new practitioners. And for those who would like a good reference book that is portable. |

| I had an intense exam on the bones and it helped me prepare for it. I actually passed the test with flying colors. The pictures were great and very detailed. I would recommend this book to anybody. |
