| I am not happy to report that we never received the book we ordered. We ordered the book on August 4, 2007 and told shipment would arrive by August 24th. On August 24th, we wrote in that we had not received the book. We never received a response from Amazon. On August 26th a duplicate of the book had to be purchased from the University Bookstore as the school term had begun and we were still without the needed book. The only positive thing I can say is that after submitting a claim on the purchased book, our money was promptly returned.
I was pleased with the arrival time of this book and the quality of material that arrived. Thanks |

| Textbook has awesome pcitures. I think it would be better if the book came with detailed notecards instead of a cd. So that you can study for exams. |

| Collaboratively written by equestrian expert Sarah Pilliner, freelance illustrator Samantha Elmhurst, and equine nutritionist and consultant Zoe Davies, The Horse In Motion: The Anatomy And Physiology Of Equine Locomotion is an extensive and authoritatively examination of equine anatomy and how horses walk, trot, canter, and jump. Profusely illustrated with numerous black-and-white photographs and sketches, and offering invaluable tips to avoid hindering a horse as well as a wealth of information about how horses move, The Horse In Motion is very highly recommended reading, especially for equine enthusiasts and for anyone with an interest in painting or animating these robust creatures. Also very highly recommended is Sarah Pilliner and Zoe Davies' earlier work, Equine Science, Health And Performance (0632039132; [money]). |

| If I had the choice, I would probably not buy this book again. The pictures and text are great, but the information you need for veterinary school is just not in here. However, this is the INTRODUCTION book and there is another book of the same series that gives supplemental information. Maybe if you buy these two books together then it would be helpful.

As for the anatomy section of this book, it is somewhat helpful and can be useful if you have several books and want a point-of-view from different authors, then yes, get it. Though I must admit, I hardly used this book because some muscle topics are covered while others are not even mentioned!

If you want just a very very brief introduction to anatomy then this is your book, otherwise purchase something that will cover all topics.
This book, another by Dr. Aspinall, is NOT suitable for those studying veterinary medicine. It is NOT comprehensive, and does NOT cover the subjects you will do to a suitable level even in first year. It may be suitable for the veterinary nursing students but if you are on the veterinary medicine course, do NOT buy this book.
This is a great book for the veterinary technology student. It is written in easy to understand text and has many diagrams that are well presented and very helpful. Although the majority of the book is devoted to the dog and cat there are also chapters on birds and exotic species. I highly recommend this book, especially for the beginning student. It is a great book for studying on your own or as a classroom aid. |

| This was the Physio book my Vet Phys class used. It is absolutely amazing. There is tons of info, yet it is interesting and somewhat easy to read. The chapters on Cardio are especially good, and there are many helpful diagrams.
The case examples at the end of each chapter really help you to apply your knowledge.
I gave only four stars because there are no color pictures.
This book is a must for any veterinary student. My class was using a human physiolgy book, which was very informative, but was frustrating to use. The textbook of Veterinary Physiology is easy to read and well organized and has many tables and illustrations to help you understand the material. There are even case studies in the book that help you apply the information. I gave this book 4 stars, because while very informative, it does leave out a few things (those topics can usually be found in a medical physiology book). Overall, this book is a very good supplementation to veterinary students whose classes use a medical physiology book as their primary text. The only other downer (this is minor) is that the tables and diagrams are all black and white. Color diagrams would be a nice upgrade in the next edition.
My physiology teacher wasn't the best, so I was VERY glad to have this book. It's very concise, yet extraordinarily well explained, with helpful illustrations. I'm not sure what I would have done this semester without it! Highly recommended. |
