| I love all the visual Mnemonics books by Laurie L. Marbas. The micro/immuno is one of my favorites. The virus section is excellent, as are many other areas. If you are a visual learner, this is an absolute must have book.
This book is great, and I used it for my regular micro class and while studying for Step 1 and found it extremely useful.
I just finished Step 1 and I can honestly say that these drawings were a life saver. I could answer 90% of the questions from quick recall from these drawings. I would recommend them to anyone. |

| The audio cds are clear and easy to listen to. I thought that there would be more details about general microbiology. The audio cd's list the names of the viruses, bacteria,etc.. but no details about microbiology.
These CD's are realy worth the money. They review pretty much all the organisms you need to know for med school micro. I listened to them a couple of times and the amount of information I have retained is amazing. Get these CD's and listen to them in your car. |

| This atlas beats all the other atlas hands down. I have never seen one atlas contain some many color examples of all the major disease causing microbes and how each one responds to the various diagnostic tests that are performed on them. A must for anyone who is in college for microbiology or clinical lab tech. Each photo has a paragraph next to it detailing which organism it is, along with detailing what the results of the test are and why. No more fumbling thru huge textbooks books looking with the information you need and to only find out that there isn't a photo you can refer to. The only way to learn how to identify microorganisms is by visual learn and when you only have access to the lab one day a week you really must have something at home that you can always refer to.
When I confuse very much in topic of Microbiology laboratory method. I see this book in my faculty's library. I read this. It simply guide me step-by-step to understand the topic. It has clear photograph, complete information, but the price is too expensive. |

| Know these Vignettes! Nothing more to say. They will be tested over. Period :)
This book is small enough to fit in your white coat pocket for those down times on the ward. It is much more concise than Microbiology Made Ridiculously Easy and a much better study tool for Step 1 and Step 2. Microbiology is one of those very important areas of medicine that comes up again and again, regardless of what field you decide to go into. Mastering it is key and you'll get a good grip on it with this book. Very useful.
Great review of all the high-yield bugs in case-based format. Really liked the book's style, presentation, and content. Also has good figures and answer explanations, which helped me understand several important concepts better. Definitely worth the money. |
