This book presents statistics in a very non-threatening manner. It clearly provides both the how and the why of statistics for the behavioral sciences. The author has included "tips" throughout each unit that highlight important concepts that help focus the student's understanding of the topic. Each new procedure is followed by a well conceived example.

This learning tool offers little improvement over other learning methods.

One of the major concerns is the overly complex language used to describe core concepts. Someone with little or no scientific background will have a difficult time comprehending definitions. It may be necessary to use blank pages provided, to redefine most terms. This leaves little or no space for examples given by the professor.

On the positive side, information is presented in an orderly fashion. Headers provide chapter title and number so it is easy to follow along. In addition, this categorizes information as we review it, which helps retention.
