This book is both fascinating and broad enough to be reliable as a reference. Can be picked up and flicked through or read topically. Rivals Madigan et al. Excellent illustrations and on the right level for undergrads.

My professor intended this book to be a reference for the microbiology course he taught. I personally found the book to be so interesting and well done that I just dived right into it, and still find more new things each time I crack it open. As a dual Biochemistry and Microbiology major, this book is going on my reference shelf.

I used this book for microbiology class and it is very helpful. Tortora is a great writer. Each chapter is very organized and quite easy to understand. I also used the following:
Microbiology Study Guide: Key Review Questions and Answers by Patrick Leonardi
The second book had the type of questions that were asked on my microbiology undergraduate exams. My study group and I found both books excellent

I received the book very quickly and in good condition, as described. I highly recommend this book seller.

The pictures in this atlas were very clear. It made microbiology more fun to learn. The pictures of bacteria, viruses and fungi complimented my preparation for the test. I also found Microbiology Study Guide: Key Review Questions and Answers by Patrick Leonardi to be an excellent source for question test preparation for my university exams.

This book gives the beginner useful informations in the field of microbiology. Although this book dose not include everything, it's impressive tables and figures makes itself as a useful tool for the students engaged in microbiology. Easy approach is another feature of this book. I recommand that those who are interesting in the field of microbiology should get one book like this one.

Now in an expanded and updated second edition that acknowledges key international cleanroom standards, greater understanding of the role of biofilms in pure water systems, and other improvements in scientific understanding, Cleanroom Microbiology For The Non-Microbiologist by David M. Carlberg (Professor Emeritus, California State University - Long Beach) is specifically designed and written for the professional who has a pressing interest on the subject, but little or no previous training in the area. Chapters discuss basic microbiology and microorganisms, how to control their growth and activities, cleanroom facilities and personnel controls, and the detection and enumeration of microorganisms in the cleanroom. Black-and-white photographs illustrate this serious-minded guide that presents basic information as thoroughly as possible without straying into an excess of technical jargon.
