Though vastly updated, the text is still organized into two main sections: the first covers general concepts and diseases that affect the body as a whole; the second takes a systems approach which details disorders typically affecting specific organ systems. Review The purpose of reviews on the product pages are to review the quality of the products themselves. Unfortunately, some are reviewing Amazon service instead of the book. Please stop doing this. It affects a buyer's perception of the book. I received a book that was not what I ordered. I ordered the seventh edition and was sent the sixth edition. For college courses I relly need exactly what I ordered. But the return process was easy and not at all cumbersome.

Review only because it's heavy and crushes the sternum. So I can't lie in bed with the pathology textbook. Small sacrifice considering this is the most awesome path book ever. It's well written, superbly illustrated and organized. As a general dentist, there are conditions shown in this book that I will not likely see. I am sincerely grateful that I live in a country where most people would be seen and treated long before the situation gets out of hand. For now, at least. However, just learning about these conditions is valuable. I have managed to find more than my share of pathology over the years and this book is worth every penny to help me become more aware of some of the subtle changes that signify danger for my patients. The serialized photography of cases alone is worth the price. This is an excellent book (and quite frankly a "MUST HAVE") for the Oral & Maxillofacial Surgery Resident, Private Practitioner or Attending Surgeons. It is also a book well suited for Otorhinolaryngologists, Plastic/Reconstructive Surgeons and General Dentists. It is written in a clear, comprehensive and enjoyable format. Highly Recommended and worth every penny. I have had this book only for a few days but I already highly recommend to all working in oral and maxillofacial surgery. The book is great in not only explaining pathology but also treatment options.

Other features include practical tips on the differentiation between possible diagnoses and information about eponyms. Review The book is good and easy to read. One thing though is that it isn't all-encompassing. Moreover, it isn't written in any particular order (like disease entitiy group), and lacks an easy way to find a differential diagnosis. It is however a super intro book into kidney disease This book is helpful for those entering fellowship in nephrology. I'm sure pathology residents and energetic medical students would find it useful too. The book is broken down into clinical classifications of renal disease, one per chapter, and the possible histologies are displayed for each. Pictures are in color. It is not a reference book, but it is a manageable size to keep in a backpack or suitcase. I would encourage medical school libraries to stock a copy.

Review As a make-up effects artist in the Indie horror film circuit, where quality is frequently diminished by a tight budget, I find Mr. Dix's atlas on the subject of Forensic Pathology to be an indispensable pictorial reference. The photographs presented on the CD-rom version, while explicit and unflinching, provide the realism necessary to take a low-budget production and give it the professional boost it needs in order to make it more marketable. This was the worst purchase I have ever made. This is a poorly illustrated coffee table book on death. There is no educational value. Although it is obvious that the author (Jay Dix) had great cases during his career, they are very poorly photographed, and the publisher has done a pitiful job of reproducing them. If you have an interest in learning ANYTHING about the world of forensic pathology, this is NOT the book for you. At about a dollar per page, this book is not worth your time.

This was one of the best books I have ever read!
