| I ordered the book and received it before I went to class. Now, that's service. Thanks! |

| Martini is the answer! No matter who you are, if you're studying the human body- Martini is your new best friend. I ran across Martini in Chiropractic school per a professor's recommendation. From then on it was just short of a love affair with Dr. Martini (or his work at least). Unbelievably well laid out and basically thorough. Bravo Dr. Martini! It is a miracle work if you want to read it to gain a SOLID foundation before you attempt more advanced (both) anatomy AND physiology courses and books. Bravo Bravo Bravo!
Book is in pretty good condition with slightly bent edges as is nearly every used book. The spin is not damaged and all of the pages are intact. Nothing is highlighted in the book.
I have to say, I used the 5th edition of this book and know that the 6th is better as I worked with another student who had the 6th edition. EVERYbody who wants to know, particulary physiology, should have this book for reference. The anatomy is also excellent particular the discussions on vascular and the venous / arterial systems and the nervous system discussions are clear!. I reference this book all the time. |

| Highly informative. A must read for any aviator at any level of experience. The author breaks down the somewhat confusing dialogue of such topics as hypoxia and hearing and vision factors into a simplified and informative approach. |

| I am a graduate student at NYU. I have taken two physiology classes and I have yet to find a good physiology book. My background is in biology and engineering so I know a few things about how physiology should be taught. This book does not do it right! The material is organized in strangely repetitive chapters that cover the same material in varying depth. Most texts will simply move from broad spectrum into finite detail, not this one. It was lacking material and it was confusing. Don't use this book.
For anyone studying to ace their medical school physiology course, I suggest staying away from this textbook unless it is a required text for the course. The key problem with this text is that different sections are authored by different authors, leading to the lack of coherence in the presentation of material. Some sections are much more detailed than others, while some sections simply lack clarity. Time is a premium in medical school, and efficient studying is paramount; reading poorly presented topic matter and spending more time than would be otherwise needed on poor graphs and illustrations is something I would much rather avoid. The content, in my opinion, is more geared towards, and is appropriate for students in scientific research programs.

<br />If you're studying for a medical school physiology course, I highly recommend using Costanzo's "Physiology" textbook for its comprehensiveness, simplicity, clarity, and logical coherence, during the course if this reviewed text is not an absolute requirement. For Step I board review, I recommend the "Physiology Board Review Series" book, which is high yield, coherent, and written by the same author Costanzo.
