| The book is good and easy to read. One thing though is that it isn't all-encompassing. Moreover, it isn't written in any particular order (like disease entitiy group), and lacks an easy way to find a differential diagnosis. It is however a super intro book into kidney disease
This book is helpful for those entering fellowship in nephrology. I'm sure pathology residents and energetic medical students would find it useful too. The book is broken down into clinical classifications of renal disease, one per chapter, and the possible histologies are displayed for each. Pictures are in color. It is not a reference book, but it is a manageable size to keep in a backpack or suitcase. I would encourage medical school libraries to stock a copy. |

| This book is like BRS Pathology, but with gross and microscopic high resolution pictures (over 900 as per the authors), as well as other high-yield goodies. There are clinical examples and concise explanations without useless details and minutia, or as the authors put it, "...focusing on the core content that medical students need to know...highly illustrated course review...USMLE-type questions and answers with rationales". A bit pricey due to high-quality glossy paper with lots of photos, but well worth it! Don't let the 652 pages scare you away! Each page is only about 1/3 text on the average, while the rest is color macroscopic and microscopic photograghs, color illustrations, and high-yield boxes of different colors containing high-yield key facts (yellow), clinical vignettes and correlations (blue), and the molecular/biologic/genetic basis of disease (pink). There are also high-yield tables and charts, as well as a practice USMLE-style exam with color photographs and clinical vignettes. Get this book and use it with "BRS Pathology" and "Rapid-Review Pathology" and get a 261+ in Pathology without exploding your brain trying to review Robbins. Good Luck !
This book is a compact version of a pathology book. It covers most common pathologies instead of very rare academic cases. It is a practical book with very good pictures. There are a lot of good quality pictures to help to recognize cases. Explanations are short but to the point. You should not expect to find all the voluminuous information that you may find in other standard pathology books but you learn more practical things from this book. It is a must have book as a reference.
This color illustrated pathology cover a broad range of pathologic topic with pictures to enhance the topic. What's really great is the picture examination at the end of the book which reflects the usmle-type of questions. All of the pictures from the previous book: pathology picture tests, are covered in this book with full explanations. I highly recommended as a supplement or for pathology reveiw! |

| I was expecting a real book when I paid $50 for only one part of a three series study guide. I get magazines that are bound better than this book. The binding started breaking the first time I read through it. The red paper that is used throughout is difficult on the eyes. This is a very low quality of production. There were A LOT of typos, and it means A LOT when even I can point them out. There are no explanations for the answers, it just gives you a letter in the back of the book and no way to understand why it is that answer. I have two other ARRT exam review books and they are much more helpful. I wouldn't recommend this book, put your money elsewhere.
The questions were very complete and organized in each part. It was realy easy to study from. It helped me to pass the Arrt examination. The questions were similar to the formation on the Arrt exam.

When you're not studying for the Arrt and need some entertainment I recommend

| This edition is essentially identical with the previous one. It is a useful book, but still not difficult enough to reflect the extreme complexity of the Pathology board exams. |

| Of course Sternberg is one of the leading sources of general surgical pathology information and the book lives up to its reputation with adequate discussions of each topic with relatively good microscopic descriptions and information on special stains (unlike the new Rosai/Ackerman). However, consistently, he gives the name of an entity in one place in the books/volumes and then every where else it is only reffered to by its abbreviation. So now if you don't remember the abbreviation you have to hunt for it ealier in the chapter or in other chapters all together. And of course the abbreviation is not in the glossary nor is there a seperate index of abbreviations. I find that this adds unnecessary distractions and time to what should be smooth studying.
An excellent summary of surgical pathology. Does need to be supplemented with monographs and articles, such as those by Odze, Fenoglio-Preiser, Barnhill, Rosen, Foucar, Harris, Gnepp, Neville, Vigorita, Stocker, Humphrey, Ro, Robboy, Connor, Burger, Ellison, Miettinen, AFIP tumor and non-neoplastic fascicles, Major Problems in Pathology, Atlases in Diagnostic Surgical Pathology, WHO blue books, and all the usual journals. I also recommend Fletcher as an additional source. |

| I am thrilled with the rare material found in this book!
I've never before seen health implications of all planetary conjunctions
to North and South Lunar Nodes. Transits to Nodes too.
The transits typical at death. Best of all - the most incredible chapter on
selecting Safe Surgery Dates we have ever seen! Thumbs up on this one.
Most astrology books fall into two categories, they are either trivial or too technical and full of tedious jargon. This book is unique in that it has something to offer the novice as well as the professional. It is organised to make it easy to find relevant pieces of information relating to a particular planet in a particular sign while offering a clear lens into the larger perspective on how medical astrology works. Nothing out there covers the subject as well as this book, I highly recommend it to anyone interested in this vital branch of astrology. |

| Fogo and Kashgarian have created an excellent comprehensive atlas with a unique feature: The images and text are keyed to the major textbook of kidney diseases, Brener and Rector's The Kidney (7th ed).

The images are exceptional. The IF photos are especially well done. The images of H and E's and silver stains are of highest quality and demonstrate unit lesions with simplicity and clarity.

Chapters 2-6, Vascular, Tubulointerstitial, Transplant, Cystic Diseases, and Neoplasms, will be of interest to any practicing general surgical pathologist; the first chapter, Glomerular Diseases, will be of great use to renal pathology subspecialists and to residents and fellows.

This is truly an atlas, with text supplementing. The references are typically a handful of key works which are seminal for the lesion in question.

The format is very friendly. The artwork for the glomerulus schematics makes a traditionally difficult area very accessible to the novice.

If you diagnose kidney diseases of any sort, this book will be a valuable resource . |
