| This book is only sufficient for the less weighted items for the USMLE boards. There is just not enough depth for a lot of the things covered by the boards. Also, there are quite a few errors in here, and no errata published by Princeton Review. That means that everything written in it must be checked elsewhere and confirmed before it is useful. On the plus side, for a broad and nonspecific overview of topics like gross anatomy, genetics and immunology, the book did a good job. However, they billed themselves as a comprehensive study guide, and they just fell short of that claim.
This book is absolutely full of mistakes, I would not rely on it at all!
This is a great book to review material, as it explains concepts so well. It also covers strictly all the clinical points of the basic sciences, and not facts that are really not needed. You must learn to use it with your coursework, however, as it is a bit deficient. I am using it side by side with my first aid, and a couple other review books. It's framework, however, makes studying for the boards a lot easier to mentally grasp, as the systems and the most high yield concepts are already there for you. It's length is almost perfect, as you have already covered so much material in your courses. This gives you quite a bit of time to do as many questions for the boards as possible. I would definitely recommend this book as a starter for USMLE study. For the next edition, I recommend making the book atleast 1200 to 1500 pages, to make up for the deficiencies, and so no other review books are needed. |

| Know these Vignettes! Nothing more to say. They will be tested over. Period :) Another low yield subject, but points are points.
I didn't like anatomy very much because I found the subject matter pretty dry. I thought this case-based review was a great way to review anatomy and several of the high-yield facts appeared on my Step 1 exam (Feb. 2004). Probably best used by those seeking to do above average on the exam. Excellent explanations and figures.
This book on anatomy and embryology was written by an author who is a resident in radiology. I would check the facts of the book with a real book written by someone with real credentials in the given subject. I had to check the facts for the Recall series, which also was written by a resident - an orthopedic resident composing a book on Pathology Recall. |

| Outstanding EM clerkship text for any rotating student, including those interested in applying to EM residents. Reading and mastering this book alone should help any student ace the USMLE step 2 exam (EM represents a sizable share of the exam). Would also be very useful for PGY1 or PGY2 residents in order to prepare for the national inservice exams. Highly recommended!

| Excellent book to be used as both a text and review source. Icons on the side of pages tend to be more distracting than helpful. |

| In my experience, this book was not helpful for Step 1 preparation. Partly because Behavioral Sciences is not heavily tested in the exam and clinical vignettes are time consuming. Also, I felt that by studying a standard review book alone, I was able to remember the distinguishing aspects of each disease. However I am sure there are many people who would find this book useful.
Excellent book. I've read it in the library and immideatelybought to have it for prepering for USMLE 1 END |

| this book is a great review for usmle step 3. the question disc is a great way to apply the material. this disc has great answer explanations. The book is packed with relevant information. i cant remember seeing anything on the exam which wasnt covered in this book. The first time around may take 1-2 weeks but after that the read is quick. This is a great one stop shop if you are a few years past your intern year or have been out for a while. it has almost all the info you need for STEP 3.
I think this book has too much detail with the topics it includes and it misses many pathologic diseases that are included in other reviews. I would definitely not use only this book for review.
This book lacks any depth to help you study. Would not use as a sole study guide. |

| I bought this book at a traditional book store -- it was on a discount to only $10.00 and I still think that I overpaid. I found many of the questions irrelevant to the step 2 testing environment, and some of the answers were just flat out wrong, and the book is only one year after publication. Explanations were also inadequate.

I would recommend purchasing one of the online question banks if you have the means - Q-bank is most like the boards, USMLEworld is significantly harder and less relevant, but both are far superior to this book. Save your money.
A very good book for USMLE Step 2. There are about 50% of questions in my USMLE Step 2 exam(I just took it in Nov/2002) are matching questions . You can find a lot of questions in this book are similar to the real exam, especially the matching questions.
better than it's counterpart for step1.however the level of difficulty is less than that seen on step2. |

| It provides a precise and to the point review of what is required for the USMLE !
I used several prep. test books for the test and this one most closely matched the content of the exam. It covers many of the topics and it's explanations are perfectly detailed. It's a great tutor. It needs better diagrams and the version I read had an insulting degree of editing errors--the publisher informs me the edition currently for sale is corrected. Even with the errors, this was the best collections of printed tests I used. Good luck! |
